Performance reflection (04/06/2020)

Seeing as the performance is now over, today is one of the few times where I can say that I achieved my goals for my acting and used my surroundings to my advantage. The feeling that one gets when they can”t think outside of their character because they are so engrossed into their performance is a rare one to reach but I can say that I certainly felt that today. Although my performance was bizarre (This includes an instance where I scooped up a handful of drain water and poured it on myself), I acted naturally according to Stanislavsky, and my character (A homeless man in the form of a nightmare) really shone to anyone watching.

I do feel as if if we had more time to gather ourselves and practice more often seeing as we only had one full run through before performing, the performance could have been much better as we would not only have better chemistry with each other but also remember some scenes better. All in all, considering everything that has happened to Fiji and to our theater class in the last few months, I feel like we put on a really good performance that can be improved in future by simply more practice.
